Lone Finalist: Hudson ISD - Mr. Scott Martindale
The Hudson ISD Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that Mr. Scott Martindale has been named Lone Finalist for the position of HISD Superintendent. The Board’s decision follows a comprehensive search process that returned an extensive number of highly qualified candidates. HISD board president Katie Baker stated, “The Board dedicated countless hours to review, assess, and interview, with the goal of ensuring that the District’s next superintendent has the ideal qualities to continue Hudson’s tradition of excellence. We believe we found that in Mr. Martindale and are excited about his addition to the Hudson family.”
Mr. Martindale brings over 13 years of educational leadership experience to the District. He currently serves as Superintendent for Gunter ISD where he has led the District to high academic and extracurricular standings. Under Mr. Martindale’s leadership, the District passed a $78.8 million-dollar bond, with a 73% passage rate. He oversaw the design and construction of a new elementary campus, the addition of a storm shelter that serves the high school and middle school, three state championships in football, a volleyball state title, and the 2023 3A UIL Lone Star Cup. Prior to Gunter, Mr. Martindale spent 8 years with Iola ISD, where he served as the elementary principal, high school principal, and superintendent. Mr. Martindale has demonstrated a commitment to student success with a collaborative and innovative approach to problem-solving which aligns perfectly with Hudson’s values and vision for the future.
As required by state law, the Board must observe a 21-day waiting period before officially finalizing the hire of Mr. Martindale.
