Dr. Gabriel Zamora received a unanimous vote to become Fort Stockton’s next superintendent.

The Fort Stockton Independent School District School Board made their official decision on who the next superintendent will moving forward at the group’s special on May 5. Dr. Gabriel Zamora received a unanimous vote by school board to become the district’s next superintendent. The current Olfen Independent School District Superintendent was selected from a group of over 40 candidates that applied for the position. “His leadership and motivation is what really stood out,” FSISD School Board President Billy Espino said. Zamora has had plenty of leadership roles outside of his administrative position at Oflen ISD. The McAllen native has served 23 years in the military – eight active years in the U.S. Army and the past 15 years in the Army National Guard. He is currently a Command Sergeant Major with the Army National Guard. The hiring will be made official at the end of this month.
